A Notifying Supplier shall conduct testing of the manufactured or imported
electrical products and keep a record of the testing for three years from
the date of the testing. For imported electrical appliances, an importer
shall obtain a record of the testing through the foreign manufacturer and
keep it.
Mandatory testing/inspection?
1 Specified Electrical Appliances and Materials :Category A
(1) Test within the manufacturing process
Tests performed within the manufacturing process of Category A products
shall be carried out routinely on the construction, quality of material
and performance of the applicable Category A products in accordance with
the method of manufacture of Category A products, by a method recognized
as appropriate to making the applicable Category A products conform to
the technical requirements. Note: Tests of materials and parts may be substituted
for by an incoming inspection at the time of purchase as long as such inspection
is recognized as equivalent or superior to the applicable test.
(2) Test of completed articles ・・・100% test are same as below.
Tests of completed products Tests shall be performed on completed Category
A products as follows: For fuses (excluding thermal links with containers
which are of a non-current-carrying construction),their appearance shall
be tested on every product, and for Category A products listed in the left
column of the following table, their appearance, dielectric strength, function
and matters listed in the right column of the table shall be tested on
every product and for other Category A products, their appearance, dielectric
strength and function on every product shall be tested also by the method
in conformance with the technical requirements.
(3) Test of samples
Inspection of test specimen Testing of specimen randomly selected from
the materials, parts, semi-finished and completed products of Category
A shall be performed as follows: In the case of a change in the main materials,
parts, manufacturing method, or when deemed necessary to bring the applicable
materials, parts, semi-finished or completed products of Category A into
conformity with technical requirements, tests shall be carried out by the
testing methods in conformace with the technical requiremeents. Note: Tests
of materials and parts may be substituted for by an incoming inspection
at the time of purchase as long as such inspection is recognized as equivalent
or superior to the applicable test.

Matters that must be described in the record of testing are the following:
(1) The name and classification of type of the electrical appliance or material and a description of its construction, materials, and performance
(2) The date and place where the test was conducted
(3) The name of the person conducting the test
(4) The quantity of the electrical appliance or material tested
(5) The method of the test
(6) The results of the test
NOTE: Relevant Laws and regulations do not stipulate the usage of particular forms for the record of testing.
